GTFlow 1.4.2 Release Notes

Welcome to the GTFlow 1.4.2 release notes. Version Date: Feb 2, 2010.            Return to GTFlow page

New Features
Vessel wall component The new vessel wall scene component allows easy segmentation and visualization of vessels and other structures. The segmentation works either on weighted velocity data or any other dataset in memory. Interactive thresholding, object splitting, and smoothing of input data are all included in this powerful tool. Additionaly, resulting objects can be made semi-transparent and used to generate seed points for particle tracking.
A vessel wall scene component is initiated using the button.

Forward and Backward Pathlines Integration
Pathlines can now be integrated forward, backward, or backward and forward in time. The option is available on the redesigned "Flow Visualization" - tab in each individual contour or vessel wall scene component.

Dynamic contours Contours definition has been somewhat simplified. All contours are now dynamic in the sense that they can be defined in each heart phase individually. It is no longer constraint to a particular plane or orientation over the heart cycle. If a contour is left undefined in a particular phase, the contour closest in time to that phase is used.

Pathlines statistics Quantitative travel time and travel distance of each individual particle can be inspected. Number of arrivals, average travel time and distance can be computed for particles emitted by one contour and "detected" by another. Pathlines statistics are available from the "Advanced" tab in the contour scene component properties.

Reworked data cache concept The memory model in GTFlow has been refined and allows now for reading and processing larger datasets.
Enhanced Dicom Support for enhanced Dicom files has been added. GTFlow can now open multiframe Dicoms generated by Philips.
Updated intstaller The .msi installer has be enhanced to automatically remove prior GTFlow versions during installation. The manual uninstall of GTFlow prior to the installation of an new version is no longer required.

Bug Fixes
ID Summary
193 Crash on cancelling open file dialog
195 Incorrect contour statistics for xz- and yz-oriented contours
199 Memory leak in pathlines calculation

Comments
When upgrading from versions 1.3.x and earlier, a new license is requested for GTFlow 1.4.2.
Any feedback regarding installation, usage, and features of GTFlow are always highly appreciated.
